Weycroft Manor Restoration, Axminster
In March 2020, a devastating fire destroyed the roof structure at Weycroft Manor near Axminster.
Following the reconstruction of the oak timber frame, Above The Rest was appointed to install a completely new cedar shingle roof in keeping with the original appearance of the historic building.
The project involved:
✔ Installation of thousands of cedar shingles
✔ Traditional ridge and hip detailing
✔ Complex roof geometry and junctions
✔ Careful attention to the original character of the property
✔ High-quality craftsmanship throughout
Completed in June 2021, the finished roof restored the building’s distinctive appearance while providing long-term protection for generations to come.
This remains one of the most rewarding and prestigious projects we have undertaken.
